HARDLITE
HEAT STRENGTHENED SAFETY GLASS
HARDLITE is heat strengthened glass produced with
modern technology by heating normal glass, then gradually cooling it under
controlled condition to achieve approximately double the strength of annealed
glass.
As a result, annealed glass can be substituted with a thinner HARDLITE.
HARDLITE is twice as strong as annealed glass and therefore more resistant to rapid temperature change (thermal shock).
HARDLITE eliminates the risk of spontaneous breakage which occurs in fully tempered glass which is caused by nickel sulfide contamination in glass.
Various Applications of HARDLITE
· Building windows and spandrel areas
· Curtain walls requiring high wind load resistance
· Places requiring high strength and security such as escalator side
plates
· Shower and tub enclosures, bathroom doors
· Showroom display windows
Recommendations for HARDLITE
Unlike normal glass, HARDLITE is heat treated and therefore cannot be cut,
notched and grinded after the heat strengthening process.
Please clearly specify all details concerning correct size notching and edging style when placing an order.
